CGS To Open Training Center In China

Posted by: toast

Just released today, an article detailing the CGS's plan to open a training center in China was published on CNet News. Continuing to grow abroad and here at home, The CGS has once more pushed the envelope further than ever before imagined, here is a snippet from the article -

"I talked to Andy Reif, commissioner of the CGS, the other day, and he explained that the idea behind building the training center is essentially that you can't build a new sport without also having what amounts to an incubator for talent. That's why the league is setting up its facility in Wuhan, a city that Reif told me has more than 50 universities and more than 1.5 million students. The training center itself will be structured around bringing in potential players and testing them and training them on skills needed to compete at the highest levels of the nascent sport. Really, that means looking for and developing players' hand-eye coordination, as well as training players on the games themselves."

The article can be read in it's entirety by clicking here.

Why Wuhan.

Plus most people here are 1.6... I've played some of the best Chinese Source teams already and they really don't compare with the NA CGS teams.

Aren't we a Democratic nation and China = Communism?

Does that not go together?

Fair question and while that is true it doesn't truly hinder economic or business relations between the two countries these days (or any country to be honest):

- $10,000,000,000 loan from China to somewhat control our spiraling debt due to the current war

- Google's agreement to China's government filtering Google.cn (i.e. type "Tiananmen Square Massacre" on Google.com and Google.cn to see the blatant censorship)

- List goes on

So I guess a pro gaming training facility and stadium or a pro USA gaming team touring China isn't that far fetched .

haha,what isn't business these days? =P

I can see USA touring China with limited access ( i.e. number of days ) but I can't see a "monument" of something symbolizing other country's in there communism state.Even though Saudi-Arabia makes up 7% of our economy (maybe more atm) we don't...idk it's Spring Break and I just woke up an hour ago

But I guess you some what can say it isn't that far fetched.
