Possible Future Expansion Cities?

Experiencing indisputable growth both in ratings and popularity, The CGS has defined the standard of excellence among video game productions. With this added pressure comes a responsibility to expand even further and incorporate more and more players and cities along the way. Speaking entirely from the hypothetical, I will be examining possible expansion cities for the CGS if they ever decide to add more. As much as I wanted to include my dearest Kansas City, I will forgo the obvious choice and suggest some other lesser possibilities, GO CHIEFS!

Boston, Massachusetts - Boston Bucka's

The king of all sport cities in my eyes, Boston has achieved legendary status over the years and continues to prosper to this day. Home to the Red Sox, Celtics, Patriots, and Bruins, Boston is among America's greatest sports cities and would make an ideal location for a new CGS Franchise. With some of the most loyal and faithful fans in sports today, Boston reeks of greatness, from the green monster to the parquet floor at the Garden, legends have walked these hallowed halls. With a population of about half a million, Boston is home to some of the most avid sports fans on the planet. Without a doubt, Boston would be my first selection for a possible franchise city if and when CGS is looking to expand.

Denver, Colorado - Denver Grizzlies

The mile high city is home to some of professional sports finest franchises, including the Broncos, Nuggets, Avalanche, and Rockies. Best known for it's high altitude and cool climate, Denver is situated on the edge of the Southern Rocky Mountains. Talk about exploiting home field advantage, try gaming at 5,280 feet and you'll soon be short of breath (I hope not for your sake). Denver is one of only a select few cities in the nation to be home to 4 professional sport teams and is the one of biggest shareholders of the mid-west market. Denver is an ideal location for a future CGS Franchise because of it's modern and progressive tendencies and location.

Detroit, Michigan - Detroit Grease Monkeys

The motor city is 3rd on my list and the Pistons, Lions, Red Wings, and Tigers all call it home. A city on the rise, Detroit is currently in the midst of a revival of sorts as the cities economy is recovering from the loss of their world famous automobile manufacturing plants. Having recently played host to the All-Star game and Super Bowl, Detroit is blazing the comeback trail. Well known for it's live music, Detroit is a performer's city and is home to the famous Motown Records Label. One of only 13 cities in America with 4 professional sports teams, Detroit is primed and ready for a CGS Franchise, but only for those daring enough to make the long trip up north to Michigan.

New Orleans, Louisiana - New Orleans Moonlighters

CGS takes a bite out of the chocolate city

The Big Easy, a city very much on the rebound, New Orleans is still recovering from the catastrophe that was Katrina and is primed for a comeback. One of America's greatest cities, New Orleans is literally of melting pot of people from all walks of life. With it's world famous French Quarter and Bourbon Street, New Orleans is a city for the people, by the people. Although still reeling from the recent disaster, the New Orleans Professional Sport teams have been vital to the cities resurgence, as they have played an invaluable role in unity and morale. The Crescent City is an ideal candidate for an expansion city and I would be proud to call it home if I were drafted to it's franchise.

---

Another thing I'd like to mention that is on my wish list for CGS is the incorporation of the franchises cities in league play. Although probably a real headache to deal with and a lot of money would have to be spent, I would love to see the playoffs played in the top seeded teams home cities and I think it would do wonders to bring about even more legitimacy to the CGS. Currently as it sits, the cities for which the 6 franchises represent play a minimal role in the league. I'd very much like to see this role intensified, but I'm not sure exactly how to go about it. Whether it's simply getting some mascot suits put together or actually playing some matches in say Madison Square Garden, the sky is the limit. CGS has dreamed big since day one and I'm sure something is in the works along these lines, but if it's not I truly hope they'd consider it.

Lastly, my final request is for CGS to add a Canadian Franchise. Although currently not broadcasting in Canada, many of the CGS Gamers come from our northerly neighbor and I think it only just to reward them with a franchise. I'd love to see a Montreal or Toronto franchise and if history is any representation of involvement, Canada would be a goldmine. Nearly every professional sport is looking to expand to Canada, especially the NFL. They recognize Canada as a legitimate market and have been eying allowing the Bills to move north of the border. Canadians are passionate about their sport teams and the only shortcoming would be the lack of availability of DirecTV.

I cannot express how disappointed I am to not see the Atlanta LANDodgers on this list. Horribly, terribly, soul-crushingly disappointed.

Good read.

Atlanta definitely needs a team. I was just on the next generation servers site and if you look at the teams, with the exception of San Fran and Carolina, the other four are all at major server locations. The only one without a team is Atlanta. I dont know how the gaming scene is in Atlanta, but I think they have to be next in line if a new franchise is created.

Your team nicknames are all plural. Not a single team name in all of CGS is a plural name that ends with an "s".
